NYCkayaker May 10 Paddle: Amazing Bronx River Flotilla & Picnic/ Deitch Studio Opening

Ahoy'all,

The LIC Community Boathouse plans to paddle north on May 10, tomorrow
morning (weather depending), to honor the Amazing Bronx River Flotilla &
Picnic (

), and the great work of the Bronx River Alliance. Even if you're not up for
a paddle, we encourage you to attend these great events!

Please RSVP by 8PM tonight. We have a limited quantity of wet suits.

This is not a public trip per se, but we do want to invite athletic and
somewhat experience allies to join us as we breach Hell Gate, swing by the
North and South Brother islands, survey the South Bronx, poke into the Bronx
River (longer trips up the river and back are planned for later this
summer), and participate in the Hunts Point Riverside Park picnic
festivities.


Float Plan:
830AM: Gather at LIC Community Boathouse at Anable Cove (end of 44th Drive,
south side)
9AM: Launch
1130AM: Arrive at Bronx River, poke around, picnic (1PM-4PM), etc.
430PM: Return launch
7PM: Arrive at Anable Cove.
730PM: PAAAARTY at the Deitch Studio (

(Please bring a clean change of clothing if you plan to attend the party. We
have changing space nearby in LIC.)
