FOLLOW The Urban Divers' ENVIROMEDIA MOBILE ( the traveling urban nature
center and maritime museum of wheels) at a waterfront near through out the
summer, from Aug 15th thru Oct 10th
UDEC ENVIROMEDIA MOBILE is an official ambassador of the 400th Anniversary
of the Hudson River.
Paddle, Walk, Bike, Ferry to:
*Celebrate "International Bayfest" at IKEA/ERIE BASIN PARK, in Red Hook,
Brooklyn- SAT AUG 15th, SUN SEPT 13th, ( Plus Sunset Cinema on the
Waterfront and IKEA GoGreen Workshop), SAT OCT 10th.* *11am-5pm*
ENTER our RAFFLE and WIN a brand New IKEA HOME OFFICE DESIGN and FURNISHING.
Take the free NY Taxi Ferry across the upper bay for the best view of Lady
Liberty and "Sunning" Cormorants.
Explore and learning about the connection of the Erie Canal and Erie Basin.
Visit our waterfront History Booth, and learn and see what was pre- IKEA,
and we'll show where we built one of our boats.
Launch from the Gowanus Canal, bare witness to why it is in such a dire need
of EPA's SUPERFUND DESIGNATION, head south through Gowanus Bay, vear right
heading toward East River, stay close to shore and enter inlet at Erie
Basin.
No place to get out or get into the water at IKEA.
*"Nature at the Beach" at VALENTINO PARK, in Red Hook, Brooklyn- SUN AUG
16th, SAT SEPT 16th. 11 am- 5pm*
Paddle to this very human powered vessel friendly beach. Best view of Lady
Liberty, Learn about the migration of the Atlantic Sturgeon, Learn all about
the Cormorant, have a close
encounter and learn about the various urban raptors of our urban watershed.
Kick back for a Cinema at Sunset. ( selected film from Submerge Art and
Environment Festival and featured POP/INDIE DOC- all of of course about
water or the environment) Check out the photography and video exhibits of
the 10th Annual Submerge Art and Environment Festival- 5 Artists are
showcased. highlighting international photographer- "Vil Coyote" from
Mexico. 10 years of work on the indigenous peoples of Mexico. Participate in
family catch and release fishing... No SUSHI allowed, but you can GYOTAKU
with the kids. All equipment provided.... And naturally one must take a
glance at what lives and lurks beneath the water that one paddles though
Live! Beneath the Estuary- a live underwater video exploration... tour the
Diving Heritage Museum.

( Bike, Paddle, or Walk this Brooklyn Greenway for a splendid view of the
Lower Bay and The Verrazano.. Come to a rest, maritime enrichment,
environmental education, culture and refreshments at The EnviroMedia
Mobile).
Join us at this gateway where Hudson, Block,Verrazano and others entered NY
Harbor and established this on going work in progress. Experience and Enjoy
all of the above, plus more.

area)- SAT AUG 30th, SUN SEPT 27th. 11 am- 5pm*
Paddle across the channel where the Dutch walked to across to sell butter
at Governors Island or Paggank where the Manhattas gathered nuts.
Tell us what kind of nuts they gathered and win a prized. LAST CHANCE, A
MUST DO to ENJOY GOV ISLE, before it is swamped by Ocean Rise as a result of
Global Warming.

Visit the Harlem River Ecology Center- Every Saturday and Sunday is Family
Walk-in and Kids Day.
The Environmental Center is located on the Bronx Harlem River Waterfront,
most scenic section of the urban estuary, at the southern end of Roberto
Clemente State Park , NYC Bridge Park & River Park Towers.
Just north of the Historic High Bridge now in restoration, and walking
distance from Bronx Community College and Hall of Fame, and University
Woods- one of the oldest old Growth Forest of the Bronx.
(District for Best Ghanian, and Dominican Food in NYC). If NO Paddle... try
the Metro North- ( Hudson River Line) to Morris Heights. Stops right at the
park.
