[ Because time is short, I'm forwarding this even though it doesn't
specify which discipline the certification is for.  The ACA certifies
instructors in a number of disciplines, including river kayak, river
canoe, swiftwater rescue, and coastal kayak -- and I'm guessing this
class concerns that last one.

I strongly encourage everyone to go through ACA training, even if you
have a lot of paddling experience and expertise.  I've been canoeing
and kayaking for decades, and have competed at the highest levels within
the US...and I *still* learned all kinds of things when I went through
the process.  You will too.  It'll make you a better paddler and it'll
