I *highly* recommend ACA instructor certification courses to all paddlers --
even if you don't intend to teach, even if it's not in your primary
discipline, even if you have many years of paddling experience.  I just
went through a 5-day canoe instructor course and learned a LOT; I'll
probably spend the next year practicing some of the strokes and maneuvers.
If you're fortunate enough to have a course offered near you, jump on it.
